Amstel Choro Club brengt choro — de verfijnde, instrumentale stadsmuziek uit Rio de Janeiro waarin virtuositeit, subtiliteit en ritmische precisie samenkomen. Geen folklore-decor, maar kamermuzikale finesse met Braziliaanse swing.
De vier musici die het ensemble vormen, hebben samengewerkt met onder meer het (Koninklijk) Concertgebouworkest, het Metropole Orkest en het Argentijns Nationaal Symfonieorkest. Ook stonden zij op toonaangevende podia, waaronder Carnegie Hall, het Concertgebouw, het BIMHUIS en het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ. Montes won de Prêmio da Música Brasileira als lid van Casuarina (winnaar in de categorie ‘Beste Groep Traditionele Muziek’).
Deze achtergrond vertaalt zich in een ensemble dat strak samenspel, dynamische controle en stijlkennis combineert met een natuurlijke, warme uitstraling.
Bezetting: mandoline, cavaquinho, 7-snarige gitaar en percussie. Een extra gast solist uit onze network (extra fluit, viool en meer) is ook een mooie, aan te raden optie.

Muziek van zeer hoog niveau en met veel gevoel. Brazilië is aanwezig in elke noot, en de sfeer die zij creëren is uitstekend!
